Tom Silverman has practiced law for more than 30 years and has been chosen on multiple occasions as both the “Local’s Choice” as “Best Honest Attorney” and “Local’s Choice” as “Best Attorney” by newspaper poll. There are more than 125 lawyers listed in the 9th Judicial District Bar Association.   He has represented clients in numerous areas of the law including DUI, traffic, criminal law, bankruptcy, divorce and family law, personal injury, collections, corporate matters, civil litigation, and dependency and neglect proceedings.   Tom has handled thousands of DUI cases and is one of the leading DUI lawyers in the state. He has been asked to lecture other attorneys in Colorado on how to successfully represent persons charged with drinking and driving and has presented the legal information at DUI classes around the area for many years.

A former Deputy D.A., and municipal judge and prosecutor in a number of towns, he is a part-time municipal judge in Silt, and past President of the Colorado Municipal Judge’s Association. He has a wealth of experience including serving for 17 years as the prosecutor in Vail, 24 years as the Town Attorney and Prosecutor in New Castle, 24 years as Municipal Judge in Silt and has also prior service as aJudge in Glenwood Springs, Parachute, and in Basalt.

Tom represented abused and neglected children for over 20 years as their guardian ad litem.

He was selected by the Governor, Chief Justice and Attorney General of the State of Colorado to the Ninth Judicial District Nominating Commission. The Nominating Commission provides 3 names to the Governor from which the Governor selects the state judges in Garfield, Pitkin and Rio Blanco Counties. Tom served as the Secretary of that Commission
